About us

Gurney Consulting Engineers is a Structural and Civil Engineering Practice with a broad experience in building structures and associated infrastructure works.  The Practice was formed in 1967.  Our continuing success is due to the quality of service we give to our clients which is rewarded by the confidence clients have in the Practice and the quality of the projects on which we are appointed.

Our philosophy is to provide a professional engineering service to our clients at all times and on all projects.  We provide a fast efficient service with the emphasis on economic and practical solutions.  We concentrate on understanding our clients’ requirements with respect to the function and long term serviceability of the facilities being constructed.

Gurney Consulting Engineers provides close liaison between partners and the client throughout the duration of each project.  The policy has been adopted over many years and continues to be a key factor in our appointments.

Regular training both externally and in-house enables us to maintain the high level of expertise and the range of engineering skills to ensure projects are designed competently with the latest software and to the latest code requirements.

We are an ISO 9001 registered firm having attained our accreditation in 1999 and our quality management systems are externally audited annually to maintain our registration.

Our Health & Safety policy and documentation has been approved by Safe Contractor, SMAS Ltd.  Our engineers carry CSCS site visitor cards and several members of our staff have SPA Passports for work in the food industry.

Our office is based in Woking, Surrey and we operate on projects throughout the UK.  Recently we have expanded into the overseas market with projects in the Caribbean, Malta and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
